Venue: Scorton
This is a pleasant low level walk at the Western edge of the Forest of Bowland of about 8 miles.
Nicky Nook, inspite of its modest elevation offers splendide views that reach to North Wales, the Lake District and even the Isle of Man. Grize Dale is a fine wooded valley.
At the end we will visit the tea room in the village of Scorton for a brew before a short walk back to the cars .
Starting point is Scorton Picnic Area PR3 1BU. It is to the north of Scorton village and near to Cleveley Bridge. Ready to walk at 10.00.
You have two travel options – More motorway or less motorway.
From the M6 turn onto the M55 & immediately take the slip road for the A6 heading for Garstang. Go through Garstang to Cabus and turn right for Scorton. Look out for the Scorton Picnic area signs.
OR take the M6 to J33 and turn left onto the A6 towards Garstang. A short distance down the A6 there are two left turns that go to Cleveley Bridge. You will need a Sat Nav or a map for these small roads. The OS map is OL41.
